LEADERSHIP AGENDA Agriculture, Marine & Food Minister Simon Coveney TD with Pat McLoughlin, President ICOS, Tom O'Callaghan, CEO, ICOS (left) and Bertie O'Leary, Vice-President ICOS (recently elected Chairman of Dairygold Co-operative). The Minister addressed Chairpersons and Board Directors of dairy co-operatives following their participation in the ICOS Leadership Training programme at Charleville, Co. Cork. The Minister also launched a new introductory guide and business planning template designed by ICOS to encourage groups to establish new co-operative enterprises throughout Ireland. The initiative marks the start of the UN International Year of Co-operatives 2012 which is also being promoted in Ireland by ICOS. At the meeting, the Minister said he intends to work in partnership with ICOS and other dairy industry bodies to ensure that a cohesive and strategic approach is adopted towards the expansion of Irish dairy output and the overall competitiveness of Irish exports on global markets.
