EU Hints at Targeted Aid Packages for Most Affected States

EU Farm Commissioner Cioloş, hinted at last Friday’s Farm Council that the Commission was working to draw up plans for a targeted compensation package for farms & food businesses worst affected by Russia’s ban on EU food products.

Finland, the Baltic States, along with Poland and the Netherlands are believed to be spearheading this request, as much of their exports where dependent on the Russian market.

No details regarding the size or the finer details of such a fund, but ICOS will be watching developments closely.
