The Irish Co-operative Organisation Society Ltd (ICOS) is the central representative organisation for farmer controlled co-operative businesses in Ireland.  Our members play an important role in all aspects of the Irish Food Industry with combined sales of over 12 billion euro in 2013.

The Position

ICOS is seeking to recruit a highly motivated, articulate Dairy Executive.

The successful candidate will:

• Assist ICOS and our members in the formulation and implementation of dairy policy locally, nationally and at EU level
• Act in a Secretarial/ co-ordination role for various dairy policy working groups
• Assist in general policy formulation in other co-op sectors
• Be located in the ICOS Head office, Plunkett House, 84 Merrion Square, Dublin 2 but will be expected to travel throughout the country as required

The Candidate

Ideally you should have:

• A third level higher degree in a relevant discipline
• A farming background and be knowledgeable of  the dairy sector
• Had an involvement in policy formulation
• At least five years’ post qualification experience
• Excellent interpersonal communication and computer skills
• Have proven project management experience
• Proven ability to work on own initiative within a flexible team structure
• Some background in dealing with regulatory and legal issues, preferably as they affect the agri-business sector
