ICOS Skillnet will be attending an awards ceremony hosted by Team LM in the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone on the 12th June where over 100 participants in from 18 different co-operatives, will be presented with their formal qualifications across a number of training programmes.The qualifications are in recognition of their efforts and successful completion of the respective programmes attended and are QQI Accredited. QQI is the Quality and Qualifications Authority in Ireland and the qualifications for participants are recognised across the national framework of qualifications.Well Done to All those participants who have achieved their Qualifications.

Supporting Job Creation and Employability in the Co-operative Sector

ICOS Skillnet recently ran a “Foot in the Door” event in conjunction with employers from the co-operative sector, which is aimed at helping unemployed persons, to enhance their chances of gaining employment within Industry and across a range of sectors in Ireland.The event ran in Kilkenny and was another huge success. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the employers involved in the event and also our trainers involved in making the event such a success.More of these events are scheduled to run over the coming months across the country. Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business): Start dates deferred until September 2015

ICOS Skillnet has partnered with University College Cork to bring the industry this diploma course which will now be commencing in September 2015.The Diploma in Corporate Direction (Food Business) is a Management Development Programme for co-operative board members and senior management. This innovative programme is designed to address the special needs of co-operative board members and senior management in a rapidly changing agri business environment.

The key aim of the programme is to improve the capabilities of directors and senior management in positively influencing the strategic direction and corporate governance of food companies in Ireland. Participants will build on existing skills and develop new management capabilities in a highly interactive learning environment stimulated by academics and industry practitioners.

New dates will be finalised soon and will be sent out to all key stakeholders in the coming weeks.  There still a few places remaining, so it is not too late to book.
