Register today for the Teagasc / ICOS Seminar on Collaborative Farming Options on 15 July
ICOS and Teagasc will host a seminar on collaborative farming methods on 15th July in the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise. The seminar will begin at 1.45 pm and will conclude before 4.30 pm.
The purpose of this seminar is to increase awareness of three collaborative farming options currently available to Irish dairy farmers. This latest seminar is the 6th meeting organised by ICOS in association with Teagasc over recent months into the pertinent issue of dairy expansion following the abolition of milk quotas.
Each of the options can potentially increase the availability of land for dairy farming and benefit both the land owner and the dairy farmer.
The opening session will provide a general overview of the collaborative farming options open to Irish dairy farmers and will be chaired by Tom O’Dwyer who is responsible for Dairy Knowledge Transfer at Teagasc. Expert speakers will include Tom Curran, Teagasc and John Downey, Department of Agriculture.
The second session will take the form of three workshops on share farming, partnerships and contract heifer rearing. Each workshop will last for 25 minutes and all attendees will have an opportunity to attend each of the three workshops.
You can book your place by contacting Roisin Condon at 025 42330 or roisin.condon@teagasc.ie
