Public Consultation on a New National Farmed Animal Health Strategy

The Minister for Agriculture, Michael Creed has launched a public consultation on a new National Farmed Animal Health Strategy. The consultation document identifies animal health as a strategic imperative and will also examine new and emerging threats such as anti-microbial resistance. ICOS will prepare a submission, recognising that herd health and disease control is a critical factor on dairy farms, affecting milk production, fertility and ultimately profitability. Submissions should be with the Department by 31 October 2016. The consultation document, with further information on the process can be found at the following link:-
