ICOS welcomes EU action to renew authorisation for the herbicide glyphosate for a five year period. Following months of blockages and delays, EU member states voted in favour of reauthorisation on November 27 and the formal decision was approved by the European Commission College of Commissioners this week.

While we regret the decision to renew the herbicide for just 5 years, instead of the standard 15, we welcome an end to the uncertainty facing tillage and livestock farmers.
