RSA Statement on HGV operations and Enforcement of Drivers Hours Rules

The Road Safety Authority has agreed to a request from the Department of Agriculture to continue a pragmatic enforcement approach when reviewing driver’s hours compliance involved in the haulage of animal feed until 30th April. For the purposes of transport of fodder and animal feed, the daily driving time limit must not exceed 11 hours (the current rule specifies 9 hours daily driving which may be extended to 10 hours but no more than twice a week).
