It is expected that 772 dairy farmers will install up to 840,000 solar panels on their farms under the FreislandCampina Solar programme.  The initiative is subsidised by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.

The electricity generated will provide half of the electricity requirements of FrieslandCampina’s production locations and offices in the Netherlands.

The panels will be installed on farm roof spaces with work starting this autumn and continuing into 2019.
