43rd ICOS National Conference – 7th November 2019

ICOS is delighted to host the 43rd ICOS National Conference on 7th November 2019 in the Killashee House Hotel, Naas, Co Kildare. The conference will address two of the most pressing issues facing the dairy industry and wider agri-food sector.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Climate Change and Animal Welfare – Opportunities for Co-ops”.

The conference will hear from a range of national and international experts including Gerry Boyle (Teagasc), Bill Callanan (DAFM) and Alan Jagoe (Agri Aware).  Following a plenary session that will set the scene, the conference will then divide into three workshops on the following issues:

  1. Animal Welfare – Protecting our Social Licence
  2. Renewable Energy and the Bioeconomy – What role for co-ops?
  3. The Opportunities in the new CAP – Eco Schemes

Finally, the conference will also include a special debate marking the 125th anniversary of ICOS entitled– the enduring relevance of the co-operative model.
