Drombane Co-op celebrates 125th anniversary
ICOS member, Drombane Co-op, is celebrating 125 years. The mid Tipperary farmer owned Co-op marked the occasion with a special event in early June.
In recent years, the Co-op has expanded by opening a grocery shop to serve the local community.
Drombane has around 50 milk suppliers and that milk is processed by Tipperary Co-op as has been the case for over five decades. Tipperary also purchase animal feed rations which is manufactured at the on-site feed mill in Drombane. Based outside Thurles, its feed mill and agriware/hardware store is situated in the parish of Upperchurch/Drombane.
The Co-op was founded in 1897 and was due to celebrate its 125th in 2022 but was put back a year due to the COVID restrictions. Michael Bourke is CEO of Drombane and John O’Dwyer is Chair.
ICOS would like to congratulate Drombane Co-op, its suppliers and staff on reaching this milestone.
