Dairygold Farm walk to highlight importance of protecting water quality

Dairygold is inviting farmers to a farm walk on Friday May 31st to highlight the important work going on to improve water quality. “Farming for water-to protect our future,” is a joint event between Dairygold and Teagasc. It aims to offer farmers action focused advice and highlight the significant efforts being made by farmers to improve water quality and protect the nitrates derogation.

Dr. Frank O’Mara of Teagasc and Sean O’Brien chairman of Dairygold will be joined for a panel discussion on the day by Conor Mulvihill of Dairy Industry Ireland, Billy Kelleher MEP and Ted Massey from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

This event also seeks to demonstrate the vital importance of the dairy farming industry to both our local communities and our national economy. Dairygold strongly encourages your attendance at this event as we present a united front with our governmental representatives to protect the future of our industry and the livelihoods of our farming families.

The venue is on the farm of Raymond Goggin, Templemartin, Bandon, County Cork (Eircode- P72 DF10). The event on May 31st begins at 11am and farmers, politicians and other stakeholders are invited to attend.
